Cemetery

The Stambaugh Cemetery Association is operated on an agreement between Stambaugh Township, Caspian City and Gaastra City. The cemetery also serves residents of the former Stambaugh City. A Board is set up from members of each municipality to govern the cemetery operations. For information on the cemetery and lot pricing call 906-265-3146. Stambaugh Cemetery

This cemetery serves the former city of Stambaugh plus Caspian, Gaastra and Stambaugh Twp. The first burial was made in July of 1904. A century later all burial spaces in the cemetery are nearly full, and property is owned on M-189 near the Stambaugh Township Hall which will be used in the future when more burials need to be made. DIRECTIONS: From McDonald's on US2, turn south and go up Lay Avenue to the top of Stambaugh Hill where you will see the flat-roofed brick Stambaugh Post Office. Turn left (east) on Amber (formerly 1st) and go three blocks to a stop sign. Turn right (south) onto Stambaugh Avenue (formerly Lincoln Avenue). Go past Jasper Street (formerly 10th) and you will see the cemetery on the right.
