Cemetery

The Stambaugh Cemetery Association is operated on an agreement between Stambaugh Township, Caspian City and Gaastra City. The cemetery also serves residents of the former Stambaugh City. A Board is set up from members of each municipality to govern the cemetery operations. Stambaugh Cemetery

This cemetery serves the former cities of Caspian, Gaastra, and Stambaugh Twp. The first burial was made in July of 1904. A century later all burial spaces in the cemetery are nearly full. DIRECTIONS: From McDonald's on US2, turn south and go up Lay Avenue to the top of Stambaugh Hill where you will see the flat-roofed brick Stambaugh Post Office. Turn left (east) on Amber (formerly 1st) and go three blocks to a stop sign. Turn right (south) onto Stambaugh Avenue (formerly Lincoln Avenue). Go past Jasper Street (formerly 10th) and you will see the cemetery on the right.
